Critical Care Pharmacist

Amanda Leong, BSc., BSc. Pharm, ACPR, is a critical care pharmacist at Foothills Medical Centre Intensive Care Unit with Alberta Health Services in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and a doctoral candidate in epidemiology with the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. She graduated from pharmacy school at the University of Alberta, and went on to pursue residency with Alberta Health Services.
Amanda's research program focusses on the relationship between critical care pain and delirium. She uses rigorous epidemiologic principles to understand the pain-delirium relationship with a goal of improving the care of critically ill patients and reducing negative consequences of these syndromes.
Amanda is an active member of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists and the Society for Critical Care Medicine. She was recognised as a leading pharmacist in Alberta as the face of the province-wide World Pharmacist Day Campaign with Alberta Health Services in 2023.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys running, cycling, travelling, and baking.
