Stella Nwogugu is a nurse scientist and nurse practitioner in the medical and surgical step-down unit of the Critical Care Center at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University in 2008, master's degree with a specialty in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2013 from Columbia University, and recently completed her PhD in Nursing at the CUNY Graduate Center. Her professional nursing experience spans about 15 years in various inpatient settings. Additionally, her program of research encompasses the areas of delirium and physical activity/mobility and exploration of their interconnectedness in patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Dr. Nwogugu was a recipient of the Graduate Doctoral Nursing Science Johnson and Johnson Scholarship Award from 2017-2020. She is a recipient of the 2023 May and Samuel Rudin Team Science Award in Nursing and currently working on a study of delirium in the post-ICU cancer patient population.
