Kimberly Deal, M.S., CCC-SLP, BCS-S, Rehabilitation Department Lead; Lead SLP in STICU. Kimberly (Kim) holds a Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders and is a Board Certified Swallowing Specialist (BCS-S) through the American Board of Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. She is a Speech-Language Pathologist with experience in a variety of medical settings. Kim is the lead Speech-Language Pathologist in the Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Dignity Health’s Chandler Regional Medical Center, a level 1 trauma hospital outside Phoenix, Arizona. She is also the rehabilitation department’s lead therapist. Kim has a special interest in dysphagia related to acute strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and other neurological processes. She has presented to the multidisciplinary medical team on dysphagia-related patient care issues at local, national, and international conferences.
