Sky Vanderburg, MD MPH is a Clinical Instructor at UCSF with a robust research agenda committed to innovating for the advancement of quality and equity in critical care. Currently. Sky is spearheading research to improve respiratory care devices to benefit vulnerable populations, especially those in resource variable settings. He is an advisor to the U.S. Government (USAID) and the World Health Organization on respiratory care strategies in resource variable settings, for which he draws upon years of experience working in Africa and Asia. He has also advised startups and VC firms in the medical device and digital health industries. Sky lives with his wife and son in San Francisco, where he sometimes braves the open water to swim.
