Temperature extremes have led to an increasing prevalence in heat-related illness and injury and the resultant need for critical care. In response, SCCM created a task force to evaluate the current evidence on management strategies for multiprofessional bedside practitioners. This session will provide a detailed overview of these findings along with future directions to improve patient care. Speakers will explore the unique approach of gamification in education compared to traditional methods, as well as the neurocognitive foundations that underpin gamification and how it effectively bridges the knowledge-to-practice gap. A diverse array of strategies by which gamification enhances critical care education and enriches practical applications in the field will also be discussed.
Congress features sessions on a record-breaking number of new journal articles, guidelines, and research from SCCM and other leading medical journals. Find details here.
