Physicians and surgeons from various specialties frequently perform procedures under anesthesia in the ICU setting. This session will address how to elicit values and goals from patients who are undergoing procedures and enhance the shared decision making process with their surrogate decision makers; how to share prognostic information; and how to optimize the overall management for critically ill patients undergoing procedures.
