This session will focus on cultural and language barriers to productive and balanced discussions with families regarding end-of-life care.

Learning Objectives:

Discuss common cultural barriers to navigating end-of-life discussions with both new and native American families
Recognize challenges to navigating end-of-life discussion through English as a second language for family members and third-party contracted interpreters and analyze the benefits and pitfalls of each
Examine the potential for moral distress created by end-of-life conversations through family-based and third-party interpreters
