Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) has become a popular integral diagnostic and interventional tool. There is a growing body of literature on POCUS use on initial assessment and management of critically ill patients. This session, designed by the Research Subcommittee of the Emergency Medicine Section, expands on previous Congress sessions on POCUS by focusing on feasibility and the training process. It incorporates different aspects of POCUS in the practice of critical care, such as training, utility, and how the use of POCUS may change clinicians' practice in the ICU.
