A number of drugs are metabolized in the liver. Deep sedation is often warranted in liver failure as a part of neuroprotection. However, due to hepatic metabolism, this might prove to be difficult. Is there a role for special sedation policy in children with liver failure? This talk will address issues related to procedural sedation and sedatives used in PICU in children with liver failure.
