Dr. Vince Faustino will discuss the epidemiology of catheter-associated deep venous thromboses in critically ill children, current understanding of pharmacologic prophylaxis in this population, new studies on the horizon regarding prophylactic anticoagulation in this patient group and why clinical research is needed, and the bleeding risks associated with prophylactic anticoagulation.
