There have been certain characteristics associated with lower rates of authorization for organ donation. These issues include provider and family understanding of donor standards, end of life discussions, healthcare system relationships, and ethical issues around the donation process.  This presentation will highlight early identification of the potential organ donor and how to navigate the many ethical considerations surrounding organ donation including culture, religion, finances, and trust.
