Since the publication of a large observational study taken from recent trials was published in 2015 much additional supportive data has been generated regarding the potential use of driving pressure as a therapeutic target for mechanical ventilation in ARDS patients.  This session will explore recent data regarding driving pressure and describe the rationale for a large randomized trial of driving pressure which is currently underway.
