Electronic sepsis surveillance has been a research topic for more than a decade. Some progress has been made with recent advances in machine learning and artificial intelligence, but technologies are still suboptimal. In this session, speakers will present the current status of sepsis electronic surveillance and promising technologies to watch in the future.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss sepsis electronic detection and workflow optimization
Describe technological requirements for electronic medical record screening
Review the limitations of machine learning for clinical surveillance
